Tom Thumb Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. flour
    2 eggs
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. shredded coconut
    1 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Combine shortening and salt.
    Add 1/2 cup brown sugar and cream.
    Stir in flour.
    Spread evenly in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Beat eggs, add brown sugar and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Add remaining ingredients and stir until well blended.
    Spread on baked mixture.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool slightly and cut into squares.
