Purple Ribbon Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. boiling water
    3 squares unsweetened chocolate
    2/3 c. sour milk
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt
    and
    soda
    together;
    set
    aside.
    Add boiling water to
    chocolate
    and
    stir until chocolate is dissolved; set aside.
    Cream shortening; add sugars gradually and cream together.
    Add
    eggs\tand
    beat well, then add chocolate mixture and blend.\tAdd
    flour alternately with milk;
    beating after each addition.
    Add vanilla.\tBake in layer pans in 350\u00b0 oven for 30 minutes until done.
    Cover with favorite frosting.
