Au Gratin Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. half and half or coffee cream
    1/2 (12 oz.) pkg. frozen hash brown potatoes, defrosted
    2 oz. butter
    1 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Bring half and half to boil in a heavy saucepan.
    Add potatoes, butter, salt and pepper.
    Simmer slowly until it thickens.
    Pour into a baking dish.
    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and a little melted butter.
    Place under broiler to brown.
    Serves 4 to 6.
    May be made a day ahead or may be frozen.
