Angel Custard Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 egg yolks
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1 Tbsp. unflavored gelatin
    1/4 c. cold water
    6 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 small angel food cake
Preparation
    Combine egg yolks, 3/4 cup sugar, lemon juice and lemon rind; cook until thickened and remove from heat.
    Dissolve gelatin in water.
    Beat egg whites and remaining 3/4 cup sugar until stiff and fold into gelatin.
    Tear cake into small pieces and fold custard into cake.
    Pour into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Chill and cut into squares.
