Ingredients

2/3 c. Crisco shortening
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/3 c. Hershey's cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 (12 oz.) pkg. Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
In a large bowl beat shortening, sugar, water and vanilla until well blended.
Add eggs; beat well.
Stir together flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda.
Gradually add to sugar mixture until just blended.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 7 to 9 minutes.
Cool 2 minutes on foil paper.
Remove to rack and completely cool.
Makes 3 dozen.
