Cheese Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. grated American cheese
    2 c. sifted white flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
    3 Tbsp. melted shortening, cooled
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt; then mix with 3/4 cup of the cheese (reserving other 1/4 cup of cheese.)
    Mix the egg, shortening and milk together and then stir egg mixture into cheese mixture with a fork.
    Spoon into greased muffin pans (about 2/3 full) and sprinkle with remaining 1/3 cheese.
    Bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes or until brown.
