Lentil Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. dry lentils
2 1/2 qt. water
1 1/2 tsp. salt
pepper
1 bay leaf
1 ham bone or pieces of ham
1 large onion, sliced
4 carrots, sliced
2 potatoes, sliced
3/4 c. celery slices
1 clove garlic
Preparation

Wash lentils; place in large kettle with salt, pepper and bay leaf.
Add ham; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer gently. One hour later, add vegetables.
Simmer one hour until done.
