Grandma'S Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. flour
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 salt
    1 hunk shortening (size of a large egg)
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Dissolve 1 teaspoon
    sugar and yeast in lukewarm water. Scald milk; add to sugar, salt and shortening in a large bowl. Beat in 3 cups flour.
    When
    mixture is not too hot for yeast, add yeast and eggs;
    then add 3 more cups of flour.
    Let stand 1 hour.
    Knead; let
    stand
    until
    double in bulk.
    Then work into small balls (large
    walnut-size
    or
    larger
    if
    you want large rolls).
    Let stand,
    covered,
    in
    a
    warm
    place
    until light.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for
    20
    minutes.
    Makes 5 dozen small to medium rolls.
    You can use
    water
    and 1/2 cup powdered milk; mix with sugar.
    You might like
    to
    take a stick of oleo and rub over tops when baked.
