Mom'S Molasses Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sorghum molasses
    1/4 c. buttermilk (may use 1/4 c. sweet milk and 1/2 tsp. vinegar)
    1 egg
    flour (about 5 c.)
    2 tsp. soda, in 1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream sugar, shortening and sorghum.
    Add egg and buttermilk. Mix well.
    Add vinegar and soda mix.
    Mix very well.
    Add enough of mixture of all dry ingredients to make a soft dough.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Press each cookie in a crisscross pattern with a fork dipped in cold water.
    Bake 10 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
    Extras freeze well.
