Confederate Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. plain flour
chopped nuts
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Cream sugar and butter.
Add milk and unbeaten eggs.
Mix well.
Add flour, baking powder and a dash of nutmeg.
Pour into well-greased loaf pan.
Sprinkle the top with nutmeg and cinnamon mixture, nuts and sugar.
Dot with butter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 about 20 minutes.
Check for doneness with a broom straw or toothpick.
