Andy'S Potato Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    1/2 c. sweet milk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. nutmeg
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Beat mashed potatoes and add melted shortening, beaten eggs and milk.
    Sift together flour, salt, nutmeg and baking powder. Add potato mixture.
    Dough should be soft, yet firm enough to roll.
    Separate in two parts and roll to 3/4-inch thickness. Cut with doughnut cutter and cook in deep fat at 365\u00b0.
    Fry until golden brown and drain on absorbent paper.
    Dust with powdered sugar or a cinnamon sugar mixture.
