Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 bottles red food coloring
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening, eggs and sugar.
    Make a paste of cocoa and food
    coloring;
    add
    to
    creamed
    mixture.
    Sift salt and flour and add to creamed mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
    Add vanilla,
    soda and vinegar; blend in.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes in layer pans.
    Cool and split layers to ice.
