Portuguese Sweet Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 Tbsp. yeast
2 tsp. sugar
1 c. soft butter
6 eggs
8 to 10 c. flour
1 c. water
1 c. warm milk
2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. salt
Preparation

Proof yeast in warm water and sugar.
Mix milk, butter and sugar well and add to yeast mixture.
Beat eggs and salt together; add to yeast mixture.
Add flour, 1 cup at a time, until dough is elastic enough to knead.
Knead 10 minutes and let rise in a buttered bowl until doubled.
Punch down and divide into 4 greased pans.
Let rise and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done. Yields 4 (9 x 5-inch) loaves.
