Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12 oz.) French bread
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light brown sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 stick butter, cut into pieces
    1 c. raisins
    1 (20 oz.) can apples, drained and cut up into bite-size pieces
    6 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix cubed bread with 5 cups milk. Let stand at least an hour, mixing from time to time. Add butter, raisins and apples to bread mixture; set aside. Beat eggs, vanilla, sugars and cinnamon. Add rest of milk (1 cup) to egg mixture, mixing well. Add to bread mixture. Stir well. Pour into greased 15 x 10 x 2-inch pan. Bake on top shelf of oven. Check in 1 hour to see if center is puffed up and top is brown. If not, bake in 15 minute increments until done. May need another 1/2 hour. After cooled, sift top with powdered sugar.
