Leek Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon, coarsely chopped
    6 leeks, thinly sliced
    1/4 c. flour
    4 c. water
    3 chicken flavored bouillon cubes
    2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Cook bacon in a Dutch oven over medium heat 5 minutes.
    Add leeks.
    Saute 5 minutes.
    Reduce heat to low; add flour, stirring until smooth.
    Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Gradually add water; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add bouillon cubes, potatoes and basil.
    Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
    Stir in milk and cook until thoroughly heated.
    Yield: 7 cups.
