Sweet And Sour Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage, shredded
    1 to 2 Tbsp. bacon grease
    1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
    salt
    1/4 to 1/2 c. white vinegar
    pepper
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Place shredded cabbage in a large, deep pot.
    Combine sugar, vinegar and water in a bowl.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Pour over cabbage.
    Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
    Add bacon grease; heat to boiling.
    Cover and turn heat down to simmer. Cook on low for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Remove cover and cook until liquid is cooked down.
