Peach Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. sliced peaches
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    6 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour.
    Measure and sift with baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in shortening and add milk. Turn into lightly floured board. Roll in sheet 1/4-inch thick.
    Cut in 4-inch squares. Place 1/2 cup thinly sliced peaches in each square.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Dot with butter.
    Moisten edges of dough.
    Press lightly together. Place in baking pan. Bake in hot oven at 425\u00b0 for about 35 minutes.
