Delmonico Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 egg whites, beaten until stiff
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening and egg yolks.
    In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients.
    Add to creamed mixture gradually, alternating with buttermilk.
    Fold in pecans.
    Add vanilla.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into well-greased Bundt pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
