Rice'S Stuffed Green Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large green peppers
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 c. cooked rice
    1/2 c. wheat germ (Kretschmer is best)
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1/4 c. ketchup
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Prepare peppers.
    Cut off tops about 1/2-inch below the stem and remove seeds.
    Blanch peppers for 1 to 2 minutes in boiling water; drain.
    Brown meat slightly in oil over medium heat.
    Add onions and cook until vegetables are soft.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in together 2/3 cup of cheese and all remaining ingredients.
    Spoon mixture into peppers.
    Sprinkle tops with remaining cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
