Banana Split Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. vanilla wafers, crushed
    2 c. confectioner sugar
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 can cherry or strawberry pie filling (or fresh strawberries cut in small pieces)
    3-4 ripe bananas, sliced
    2 egg whites
    1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
    1 small pkg. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    In 9x13 pan or glass dish, cover bottom with wafer crumbs. Beat egg whites until stiff, then add sugar and cream cheese.
    Mix until smooth.
    Pour onto crust.
    Add layer of bananas.
    Add layer of pineapple.
    Next add layer of cherries or strawberries.\tTop with Cool Whip.
    Sprinkle with nuts if desired.
    Refrigerate until ready to serve.
    Scoop out with spatula for best results.
    Serves 12-15.
