Grandma Rau'S Bona Salat(Bean Salad) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. green beans, cut French-style
    6 slices bacon, cubed
    4 onions, sliced
    1 c. water
    3/4 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook green beans until stick-tender, not mushy.
    Fry bacon until slightly brown; add onions and saute.
    Drain fat and add to beans.
    Mix remaining ingredients in saucepan and bring to boil. Pour hot mixture over beans.
    Let stand at least 1 hour before serving.
    Serve warm.
