Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 c. thinly sliced cucumbers (do not peel)
    1 c. thinly sliced onions
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vinegar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix together cucumbers and onions; set aside.
    Mix together until dissolved (may be heated) the sugar, vinegar, salt and celery seed.
    Add cucumbers and onions.
    Mix again.
    Put in refrigerator.
    Ready to eat in 3 or 4 days.
    Stir daily.
    Can be kept 2 or 3 months in plastic or glass covered dish.
    Stir occasionally.
