Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 1/4 c. light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. broken nuts (walnuts)
    6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Melt shortening.
    Add sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat well.
    Add dry ingredients, nuts and chocolate.
    Bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut when almost cool.
