Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    raisins to taste (optional)
Preparation
    Pour hot water over oatmeal and let stand for 20 minutes. Cream the shortening, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and oatmeal. Mix thoroughly. Stir in raisins. Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool and frost with peanut butter frosting.
