Alabama Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. shortening
1 c. warm milk
1 pkg. yeast
1/3 c. warm water
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Melt shortening then add milk.
Add milk to yeast, stirring to blend.
Mix with flour as for baking powder biscuits.
Roll out 1/4-inch thick.
Brush with melted butter and fold over.
Press down.
Cut with biscuit cutter.
Let rise about 45 minutes.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes in 450\u00b0 oven.
