Orange Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. orange juice
    1 Tbsp. orange peel
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    grated peel of 2 oranges
    1 pkg. dates, cut up
    1 c. nuts
    4 beaten egg whites
    4 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, orange juice and orange peel to dissolve.
    Next, cream butter and 2 cups sugar.
    Add egg yolks and flour alternately with buttermilk in which soda has been dissolved.
    Add grated peel of 2 oranges, 1 package dates (cut up) and nuts. Last, add beaten egg whites.
    Do not overbeat after you fold in the egg whites.
    Bake 1 1/2 hours.
    First 45 minutes at 325\u00b0, lower to 300\u00b0 and bake 45 minutes more.
