Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar (granulated)
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream together in large bowl the butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time.
    Beat until mixture is light and fluffy.
    Add almond extract.
    Add flour and baking powder.
    Beat well.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Spoon onto top of batter 16 spoons of pie filling.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden brown and cake is done.
