Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 to 4 lb.) chicken
    1 onion
    1 tsp. celery salt
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    In large heavy skillet or Dutch oven, cover chicken with water; add onion, celery salt, pepper and salt to taste.
    Boil slowly, until tender.
    Remove chicken from broth (save broth). Remove meat from bones; set aside.
    Combine flour, 1 teaspoon salt and baking powder in bowl; cut in shortening.
    Stir in milk with fork.
    Turn onto lightly floured surface; roll very thin, cut into strips.
    Add chicken to broth, bring to boil.
    Drop in dumplings letting each layer cook for 5 minutes before adding another; cover.
    Cook for at least 30 minutes or until done.
