Super Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans LeSueur peas, drained well
    4 ribs celery, chopped
    1 medium onion or several fresh shallots, chopped
    4 oz. jar pimento, chopped
    3/4 c. vegetable oil
    3/4 c. white vinegar
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. garlic powder (can use fresh)
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 ingredients all together.
    Mix the remaining ingredients well and pour over the first mixture.
    Let set at least 4 hours before serving; overnight is better. Will keep, covered, at least 3 weeks.
