Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 egg
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. warm water
Preparation
    Heat
    milk.
    Do
    not
    boil.
    Pour over shortening, salt and sugar.
    Let
    cool at least to lukewarm before adding 1 cup of flour.
    Dissolve
    yeast
    in
    warm water.
    Add to above mixture. Break
    egg
    into
    yeast's
    cup (after yeast
    has
    been dumped). Beat egg and add to above mixture and mix
    well; add remaining 1 1/2 cups of flour.
    Turn out and knead
    well, then return to the bowl you mixed batter in that has
    been buttered (you don't have to wash it).
    Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place until double in bulk.
