Southwestern Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. Griffins waffle syrup
1 c. mashed bananas
1/2 c. ground English walnuts
1/2 c. chopped dates
Preparation

Sift all dry ingredients; cream butter, eggs, vanilla and syrup.
Mix buttermilk with bananas.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk/bananas.
Add walnuts and dates.
Bake in two nine-inch cake pans (floured and greased). Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
Cool and top with Penuche Icing.
