"The World'S Best Cookie" - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. regular oats (uncooked)
    1 c. corn flakes, crushed
    1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
    Add egg; beat well.
    Add oil and vanilla, mixing well.
    Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
    Stir in oats and remaining ingredients.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheets; flatten each ball with tines of a fork.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Cool slightly.
    Remove from cookie sheets; cool.
    Yields 10 dozen.
