Ingredients

1 lb. cubed beef or lamb
12 oz. pearl onions, whole
4 large carrots, sliced
6 oz. small mushrooms, sliced
3 large celery stalks, chopped
1/2 cup tomato juice
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup fine tapioca
1 tbsp sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation

Place all ingredients in clay oven stew pot.
Bake at 300\u00b0F for 3 hours, stirring only 3 times.
This can also be cooked in a slow cooker for the day.
