Gumbo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh okra
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/4 c. butter
    2 c. diced onion
    2 green peppers
    2 cloves minced garlic
    1/4 c. flour
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 (13 oz.) cans chicken broth
    2 c. water
    2 bay leaves
    1/4 tsp. thyme, crumbled
    1/4 tsp. Tabasco (hot)
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. salt
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. shrimp (more shrimp may be used or chicken may be substituted)
Preparation
    Saute okra,
    onion, garlic and green peppers in oil and butter.
    Sprinkle with flour and continue cooking until brown; keep
    turning.
    Add tomatoes, broth, water, bay leaves, thyme, Tabasco,
    Worcestershire
    and
    salt.
    Cover
    and simmer for 45 minutes.
    Add shrimp.
    Cook 5 minutes.
    Serve with rice.
