Double Time Cherry Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oleo, at room temperature
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and vanilla.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Add the dry ingredients and spread all except 1 1/2 cups of batter in a jelly roll pan that is greased.
    Add the can of cherries to the top.
    Dabble the remaining 1 1/2 cups batter over the cherries. Bake 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Drizzle thin powdered sugar frosting over the top when cool.
