Ice Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumbers, sliced thin
    1 gallon lime water
    3 pt. vinegar
    4 lb. sugar (8 cups)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
Preparation
    Dissolve a tube of lime in 1 gallon of water.
    Let cucumbers stand 24 hours in lime water.
    Rinse 3 times and drain on cloth. Mix vinegar, sugar and seasonings together.
    Put cucumbers in this solution and soak 12 hours.
    Heat to boiling point.
    Put in jars and seal.
    Chill before serving.
