Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 Tbsp. white syrup
    1 stick margarine or butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. pecans
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Combine sugar, buttermilk and syrup; bring to a boil.
    Add margarine and cook to soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat; add soda. Use mixer at high speed.
    Mix to cake icing stage.
    Add vanilla and pecans.
    Beat the mixture until it becomes glossy and starts to crystallize.
    Drop by teaspoons on wax paper.
    If candy gets too hard, place in a pan of warm water.
