Italian Nut Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. soft butter or margarine
    3 egg yolks (save whites)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. flour
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. jelly
Preparation
    Combine first three ingredients on medium speed; blend well. Add egg yolks, vanilla, and almond.
    Gradually add flour to ingredients and roll into 1-inch balls.
    Dip balls into 2 reserved egg whites (slightly beaten) and then roll in nuts.
    Place on greased cookie sheet.
    Make deep depression in center of each cookie with finger.
    Add jelly.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overbake.
    Sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
    Yields 36 to 40.
