Apple Cake In A Jar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 2/3 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3 c. flour
    2/3 c. water
    3 c. grated peeled apples
    2/3 c. raisins
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix the ingredients together in order given.
    Sterilize 7 to 9 wide mouth pint jars and lids.
    Grease them with shortening.
    Fill jars half full and bake on metal wire rack in oven for 45 minutes at 325\u00b0.
    As soon as cakes are done remove from oven one at a time. Wipe rims of jars with cloth and put on hot, sterilized lids. Screw down bands and let cool.
    Slice and serve with lemon sauce. This cake has one year shelf life.
