Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. quick cook rolled oats
    1 egg
Preparation
    In
    mixing bowl, stir together first five ingredients.
    Add shortening, egg and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Stir in oats.
    Form into small balls.
    Dip tops in additional sugar.
    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
