Marvelous Macaroons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. coconut flakes
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. almond extract
    4 egg whites
    1 c. chopped almonds
Preparation
    Combine coconut, sugar, flour and salt.
    Stir in egg whites and almond extract.
    Add almonds and mix well.
    Drop from teaspoon onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Garnish with candied cherry halves, if desired.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 20 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
    Remove from baking sheet immediately.
    Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
