Grandma'S Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tall can Carnation milk
    2 c. small marshmallows
    1/2 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips (18 oz. total)
Preparation
    In large pan bring sugar and milk to a boil.
    Boil gently for 10 minutes.
    In large bowl combine chocolate chips, marshmallows, butter and vanilla.
    Pour in sugar syrup and blend well with beaters.
    Pour into buttered platter.
    Refrigerate 4 to 5 hours. Add nuts, if desired.
