Creamed Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 head diced cabbage, lightly salted, cooked and drained
1 lb. ham, diced
1 large onion, diced
1/2 stick butter
2 c. water
1 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. chicken soup base
1/2 stick butter
2 qt. milk
parsley flakes
3 Tbsp. cornstarch, stirred into 1/2 c. water
Preparation

Combine ham and onion and saute in 1/2 stick butter until tender, approximately 10 minutes.
In large soup kettle, combine 2 cups water, celery salt, pepper, soup base, 1/2 stick butter, milk and parsley flakes.
Heat mixture to simmering point.
Add cabbage, ham and onion.
Thicken with cornstarch and water.
