Six Week Muffins(Yields 70 Muffins) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    5 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    4 c. All-Bran
    2 c. 40% Bran Flakes
    2 c. chopped dates, raisins or prunes
    1 c. nuts (if desired)
    1 qt. buttermilk
    soda water (previously listed)
    4 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix boiling water and baking soda; allow to cool.
    Mix the shortening, sugar and eggs together.
    Add All-Bran, Bran Flakes, chopped dates, raisins or prunes and nuts (if desired).
    Mix well and add buttermilk, soda water mixture, flour and salt.
    Bake in well-greased muffin tins for 20 to 25 minutes at 375\u00b0.
