Congealed Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box jello (flavor depends on color you want)
    1 c. boiling water
    1 (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
    1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple
    1 small jar maraschino cherries, sliced
    1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
    nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Mix together cream cheese, crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries after cheese is soft.
    Dissolve jello in boiling water. Let cool to room temperance, then place in refrigerator or until consistency of egg white.
    Add cream cheese mixture.
    Stir well to get all cream cheese lumps out.
    Add Cool Whip last.
    Serves 6.
