Oven Steak With Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. round steak
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening or oil
    1 large onion, sliced
    5 medium potatoes, sliced 1/2 inch thick
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 can water
Preparation
    Cut steak in 6 to 8 pieces.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Dredge meat in flour; brown on both sides in oil in a 10-inch skillet.
    Remove steak; saute onion.
    Pour potatoes over onions; drain excess fat. Brown potatoes and onions for 5 minutes, turning frequently. Place meat on top of potatoes; add soup and water.
    Cover and cook over medium heat for 35 minutes.
