Pound Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. plain flour
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 whole eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
1 c. buttermilk (3/4 c. buttermilk and 1/4 warm water to make cup)
Preparation

Have milk and eggs at room temperature. Sift dry ingredients together twice. Cream sugar and shortening real well; add eggs one at a time and beat until sugar is dissolved. Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately, add lemon and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured tube pan baking at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool in pan before taking out.
