Blackberry Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs, separated
    3 c. cake flour, sifted twice
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. jam
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Beat
    egg
    whites
    stiff.
    Cream butter and sugar well; add egg
    yolks and cream well.\tFold in the whites.
    Add flour and buttermilk\talternately.
    Add flavoring and jam.
    Bake in four layers at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
