Perfect Everytime Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg whites
    1/3 c. superfine sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Let egg whites stand until room temperature.
    Beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar on high speed with electric mixer until just foamy.
    (Overbeating at this stage may cause weeping.)
    Add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time.
    Beat until soft peaks form and all sugar has dissolved.
    Add vanilla and beat until glossy peaks form. Spread on hot pie filling, sealing to edge.
    Using spatula, swirl top of meringue decoratively.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
