Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. salt
    4 large squash, chopped
    4 large onions, chopped
    2 green peppers, chopped
    3 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Soak squash, onions and peppers in salt and ice water for 1 hour.
    Drain and rinse; rinse second time and drain.
    Boil sugar, vinegar, turmeric and celery seed for 3 minutes, then add vegetables.
    Boil 10 minutes.
    Put in sterilized jars.
    Process in boiling water for 10 minutes.
